Meet Mrs Tan — Host, Mentor, and Mother.
Mrs Tan's story began in Hainan, China. She arrived in Singapore with a dream, built a life here, and became a Singapore citizen in 1997. Like many parents, she faced the quiet challenge of doing it all — working full-time while raising two young children, a son and a daughter.
But Mrs Tan believed in something simple and powerful: that the right values, instilled early, shape a child's entire future.
So alongside the long working hours, she made time to teach — not just homework, but character. Resilience. Discipline. The kind of mindset that doesn't give up when things get hard.
It worked.
Both her children went on to earn places at the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University — with scholarships and bursaries to their name. Not because they were handed opportunities, but because they were raised to be ready for them.
Today, through Emerge House, she brings that same quiet dedication. The same patience. The same belief that every child, given the right environment, can thrive far from home.
